The luxury home market in La Jolla is showing some signs of life recently, with several notable sales.

There were 4 sales this year reported to the San Diego MLS, between $5 and $10mill – the same number as 2011.

Right now there are also two pending sales of La Jolla luxury homes on Camino De La Costa, that are on the opposite side of the street from the ocean.
One is listed at $5,999,000 and described by the listing agent:
“What a surprise as you enter this Provence-inspired home within walking distance of the beach in La Jolla’s coveted Lower Hermosa neighborhood. Gorgeously updated and primarily on a single level, the home boasts breathtaking ocean views, indoor/outdoor living via a peaceful central courtyard with pool, gardens and entertaining areas, and a truly superb gourmet kitchen”
The other one block south is listed at offers between $8,750,000 – $9,400,000 and went into escrow earlier this month. The listing agents comments are:
“Exciting brand new masterpiece at the beach. This lovingly created home has spectacular ocean, coastline, sunset and sunrise views! The home on Camino De La Costa described above, closed escrow on Nov 11th 2012 at $8,550,000 and it was across the street from the ocean front homes too! Here is a photo:
One other La Jolla MLS listing of note is the pending sale just this week on El Paseo Grande – a beach front home listed at $7,500,000.
This is what the listing agent has to say:
“What perfect timing! As a beautiful summer approaches, here is an opportunity to have a great, well priced, oceanfront and sandy beach home in the best La Jolla Shores location. Seller has “buffed” out property with new paint, appliances and touch up. Western facing deck sits prominently above the beach affording privacy but expansive views. Additionally, the interior courtyard is perfect to augment great entertainment while looking through the full glass doors & windows to the ocean. A spectacular value! ” Listing broker Willis Allen
