Final King Tide Event of the 2013 / 2014 Season: January 29 – 31, 2014
Because of the alignment of the Earth with the sun and the moon, the California high tides are amplified and the low tides expose even more of the shoreline for people to explore. The peak of the high tide will occur on Friday, because of the new moon.
Here is a quick video I took this morning at Marine Street Beach in La Jolla:
“Earth and the sun and the moon are all lined up perfectly so we have the gravitational pull,” said Travis Pritchard, who is with San Diego Coast Keeper.
I also previewed a home right on Marine Street Beach today:
The house has direct access to the sandy beach from the backyard terrace.
Here’s how the view looks on a calmer day, from the master bedroom’s second floor terrace:
Not too shabby ….
The home is arranged on 3 levels and has, considering it’s location, lots of usable outside space to enjoy.
