Once in a while it’s nice to kick back and just enjoy the scenery, I got that chance recently when I spent a leisurely afternoon at La Jolla Shores.
This has to be one of the nicest beaches in Southern California, I took lots of photos to share with you:
An afternoon at La Jolla Shores:
The kids enjoy this fun playground, at Kellogg Park on La Jolla Shores – it’s practically on the sand.
Trees twisted by the wind, next to the playground.
This is the Scripps Institution of Oceanography lifeguard tower, on La Jolla Shores beach ….
… and this is the new one almost next door, an unusual design
with the lookout tower cantilevered out over the boardwalk.
The remodeling is happening as part of UCSD’s 50th anniversary,
partly funded by donations from Safdie Rabines Architects & Sundt Construction Inc.
A pelican and seagulls hoping to pick off something to scavenge.
Beach volleyball players enjoy the November weather, on the northern end of the Shores.
Couldn’t help including this photo of new construction, on the corner of Camino Del Oro
and El Paseo Grande, right across the street from the car park.
The views from the second floor should be amazing.
On a clear day you can see for miles …
… in this case all the way to Dana Point – about 56 miles!
Everything stops at sunset, when something magical happens …
After the sunset it’s time to throw broken pallets into the firepits,
to hang out to chat and enjoy the moment.
When was the last time you took time out, to just hang out?
