Easy access to I-5. Del Mar is just as popular during the off-season. Near perfect weather year-round attracts a steady stream of repeat visitors and relocators who come to town to enjoy miles of coastline, two and a half miles of beautiful beaches and the famous Torrey Pines State Reserve, located within San Diego city limits and yet one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast! An abundance of mature trees lends a true woodsy feel.
A commuter rail service runs in both directions along the coast with a choice of station a mile or two to the north and south. Torrey Pines State Beach Because of the efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed -with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey Pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches, and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds.
Torrey Pines is visited by travelers from all over the world and by local residents who come daily to rest at the stunning overlooks, walk a peaceful trail, or exercise in a clean, beautiful environment. The southern half of Del Mar rises up from the bluffs above the surf and into the hills. Winding streets follow the landscape affording access to the view homes on the slopes. Powerhouse Park.
The preservation of the Powerhouse building and its transformation into a multi-purpose community asset has long been a goal for the City of Del Mar.r SeaGrove Park is nearby, large and grassy with gorgeous views overlooking the ocean.
Each year from late July through early September, visitors from all over the world come to town to attend the races at the seaside track that Bing Crosby founded and popularized.
Del Mar Fairgrounds offer a program of ongoing attractions throughout the year, the highlight of which is the Del Mar Fair from mid June through early July.. You'll find hundreds of exciting new attractions at the Fair including three classic car shows, big air motorcycle racing, a make-your-own circus for children, a "drive-in movie" in the Paddock area. Previous year's Grandstand line-ups have included Tom Jones, the Beach Boys, ZZ Top, country star Lee Ann Womack, Carrot Top and K.C. & the Sunshine Band The Stars loved to play in Del Mar too!
Many even made their "stay" a more permanent one by buying a home in Del Mar. Or better yet, like Jimmy Durante – getting a street named after them. .. it's flat with short streets ending on the sand

There are 8 miles of trails, a visitor center, and guided nature walks on weekends and holidays.
Centrally located on Del Mar's beautiful coastline, the Powerhouse Building is a well-known landmark that has played interesting roles in the community during its lifetime.
Del Mar Racetrack is known internationally for its premier racing and thoroughbred horse meetings since 1937.
